Community service and philanthropy is essential to the character of Theta Xi. The motto that you find at the bottom of the crest of Theta Xi is Juncti Juvant, which means “United They Serve”. Accordingly, we here at the Upsilon Chapter of Theta Xi strive every day to live out this motto and give back to the community that has given so much to us. Whether it is participating in sorority philanthropy projects, or holding our projects for our national philanthropy, we are committed to an active involvement in the community, and to helping others.

Sorority Philanthropies:
A key component of our philanthropic activities is participating in sorority philanthropy projects. Sororities invite us to participate in a wide range of events throughout the year, from flag football to musical competitions to food-eating competitions, while also raising money for their chosen philanthropy. These projects are a great way to maintain relations with sororities while also helping out people that need it. Theta Xi is a strong competitor in all of the philanthropy events, and we pride ourselves on our successes in them.

Theta Xi Throwdown:
Theta Xi Throwdown is our annual week-long philanthropy benefiting the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Held during MS Awareness Week in March, this is a week-long volleyball tournament with sororities invited to participate and contribute to our cause. This past year, we combined the volleyball tournament with a crazy haircut competition to raise even more money for the Foundation. The more money we could raise, the crazier the haircut five brothers would receive. Not only did this event exceed our goal of money collection, but it was a great brotherhood event with everyone dedicated for a good cause.
